Venny Torre begins his term as President of the Community Foundation

The Coral Gables Community Foundation welcomes Venny Torre as Chair of the Coral Gables Community Foundation Board of Trustees for the 2022-23 term.

Torre is the Principal of Torre Companies and is an admired leader in his field and active in the community. He devotes his time and financial resources to many local non-profit and civic organizations. In addition to serving on the foundation board for the past six years, Torre most recently served as the former chair of the Coral Gables Business Improvement District, is currently a member of the city’s planning and zoning board, past chairman of the city’s historical council. Preservation Board and former vice-president of the Dade Heritage Trust.

The Foundation also welcomes Adriana Verdeja-Arango to its Board of Directors. She is Executive Director of Government and Community Relations at the University of Miami.

Verdeja-Arango was born and raised in Miami. Coming from a family with businesses in construction and design, she has also worked in higher education for more than a decade, holding various positions at the University of Miami, from fundraising to director Chief Development Officer, to the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President and Executive Director. government and community relations.

The ex-officio members who continue to serve are Wayne Eldred representing the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and Vice Mayor Michael Mena serving as city liaison.
