Stephen Adegbite, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos Chapter, expressed his support for Babajide Sanwo-Olu to continue as Governor of the state in 2023.
Speaking on Saturday at the CAN 2022 interfaith prayer service held at the headquarters of the Apostolic Church of God, Lagos, Adegbite said the governor had done well in improving the lives of the people of the State.
“We thank God for having a child of God as governor,” he said.
“His pedigree as a high Christian has continually manifested itself in his dedication to serving humanity in different strata of society, even in difficult times.
“For us to thank him for his good work during this first term is to rally behind him and re-elect him for a second term so that he can carry out many of his people-oriented projects at different stages of completion.
“As the voice of the Christian fold in the state, the CAN cannot associate itself with what cannot benefit the common good.
“CAN has therefore decided to embark on a statewide voter registration and awareness campaign to carry out the Sanwo-Olu 2023 project.”
In his remark, Sanwo-Olu said his government would continue to create an atmosphere that would allow businesses to thrive.
He said the state was on a mission to transform lives through improved infrastructure.
“Our impact is being felt in the education system where many classroom blocks are being built across the state with constant recruitment of qualified teaching staff to assist in the smooth return of our many out-of-school children to school” , did he declare.
“Our state WAEC score profile has improved from 38% to 78%.
“Improving the agricultural system is one of the key areas the state is prioritizing to boost food production in the state.
“Currently, 14 subdivisions are in various stages of completion across the state as part of our drive to improve the lives of our citizens.”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving health care in the state.
